Gentlemen:
Haddam Neck Plant ECCS Modifications Additional Information - Request for Extension of Single Failure Exemption As requested by the NRC Staff during telephone conversations on May 20, 1987 and June 4, 1987, Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) hereby submits additional information on the piping stress analysis for the ECCS modifications at the Haddam Neck Plant.
In Reference (1), CYAPCO requested a one-cycle extension of the single failure exemption granted in April, 1986.           Reference (2) submitted additional information in order that the NRC Staff could continue its review of the extension request.
The attachment provides tables of the maximum stresses for the various loading conditions considered in the ECCS piping analysis. Each stress problem was modelled and analyzed in accordance with the requirements of the SEP criteria document (l) developed as part of the SEP piping analysis effort at the Haddam Neck Plant.

As such, the piping geometry is acceptable with the addition of seismic restraints.
