Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 2 Safety Parameter Display System Inadequate Core Cooling Instrumentation System In a telephone conversation on Monday, December 15, 1986 Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) discussed with the NRC Staff the relationship between the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) and how the information is displayed for the Inadequate Core Cooling (ICC) instrumentation system at Millstone Unit No. 2. Within that context, the Staff requested that NNECO forward " printout pictures" of the ICC displays that will appear on the plant process computer. Accordingly, NNECO is hereby forwarding the attached pictures of the current ICC displays, the SPDS displays that include ICC information and the keyboard by which both the SPDS and the ICC displays are accessed.
NNECO wishes to emphasize that these displays are preliminary and have not yet undergone final human factors review. These displays are being provided for informational purposes and should not be construed as representing any commit-ment as to what the final displays shall be. The development of the displays for the ICC system and the SPDS is a dynamic process that is ongoing. As stated in the license condition for Operating License No. DPR-65 for Millstone Unit No. 2, the SPDS is required to be operational by March 25, 1937 at the latest. Final Displays will be in place at that time.
