(1) AECM-85/0019, dated January 18, 1985 (2)AECM-85/0121, dated June 17, 1985 (3)AECM-85/0149, dated June 28, 1985 By References (1), (2), and (3) above, a proposed pump and valve inservice testing (IST) program was submitted to the NRC for Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) Unit 1. By {{letter dated|date=March 27, 1986|text=letter dated March 27, 1986}} (MAEC-86/0084), the NRC staff granted relief requested in the correspondence referenced above from certain IST requirements and authorized implementation of the proposed IST program until the staff completed its detailed review.
As discussed recently with your staff, changes resulting from plant modifications and walkdowns performed during the first refueling outage were incorporated into the 6GNS IST program. The purpose of this submittal is to provide the NRC staff with the latest revision to the program (Specification MP&L-M-189.1, Revision 2 - attached) to assist in its ongoing detailed review.
The most significant changes incorporated into Revision 2 of the GGNS IST program can be summarized as follows:
: 1. Additions, deletions, or modifications as a result of design change packages. This included deleting valve Relief Request P42-1.
: 2. Revised valve Relief Request C41-1 to specify the correct valve type and associated testing.

: 3. Deletion of valves determined to be exempt by the Code. The applicable valves are relief valves on the emergency standby diesel generators that were determined to be either an integral part of the diesel or protecting a non-safety related component.
