                                   " Stress Corrosion Cracking of High-Hardness Type 410 Stainless Steel Internal Preloaded Bolting in Anchor Darling Model S350W Swing Check Valves or Valves of Similar Desian" In a {{letter dated|date=December 21, 1990|text=letter dated December 21,1990}},(I) Northeast Nuclear Energy Company                               ;
(NNECO) submitted a partial response to NRC Bulletin -(NRCB) 89-02 for Millstone Unit No. 2, containing inspection results for all but four of the
!                - check valves affected by the Bulletin request.
                 'During December 1990 and -January 1991, NNECO inspected three valves
                  '(2-RW-4A, 2-RW-4B, and 2-RW-8) in the spent fuel pnol cooling system.                     Also as planned, NNECO: replaced the . retaining block bolts with bolts of less g                  susceptible material (type 304 stainless- steel). The old bolts showed no                              ,
evidence of cracking. - As requested by NRCB 89-02, we .are maintaining documentation of these inspections.
The single renining valve will 'be inspected not later than the next refueling outage (scheduled to begin in April 1992). This valve (2-SI-008) is -the High Pressure Safety Injection "A" Header Check Valve. As required by NRCB 89-02, the results will be reported within 60 days of completing L                -the inspection.
