Braidwood letter 88-1258 transmitted Licensed Event Report (LER) 38-011-01; Docket No. 50-457, Reactor Shutdown Required as a Result of-
                    ' Valve 2SI8809B Declared Inoperable Due to Non-Environmentally Qualified Motor. The event was reported pursuant to 10CFR50.72(a)(2)(1) - the
                    ' completion of:any Nuclear Plant Shutdown required by the plant's technical' specifications.
On June 27, 1988 Westinghouse Electric Corporation notified'
                     . Commonwealth Edison that no environmental qualification documents could-
                     .be found for the motor operator' installed on the Unit 2 Safety Injection valve 25I89809B.                           The valve was declared inoperable and Technical Specification 3.6.3 Limiting Condition for Operation for an inoperable containment isolation valve was entered. Unit 2 shutdown in accordance with the Technical Specification requirements and the motor operator was replaced.
Westinghouse Electric Corporation Letter CCE-88-455, confirmed that'the motor removed from valve location 2SI8809B, motor identification number 772-31844-02, wat manufactured with the same material as the motor.
which underwent the Linitorque qualification testing.
The motor war and is environmentally qualified to the required standards. Therefore, valve 2SI8809B was operable on June 7, 1988 and no shutdown was required. As a result'of this additional information, LER 88-011-01', Docket No. 40-457 is'being withdrawn. The LER number will not be reused.
