March 2,1998 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, D.C. 20555 Licensee Event Report #97-033-01, Docket #050-373 is being submitted to your office to update the safety analysis.
The report contains the following new commitments:
        .           Various plant modifications and Technical Specifications changes are also being implemented in order to ensure compliance with the original EQ design basis. These modifications include:
Increasing the valve closure speed on the inboard and outboard RWCU isolation valves (G33-F001 and G33-F004, respectively).
Adding break detection area temperature instrumentation (high temperature and differential temperature) to two areas      ;
of the Reactor Building subject to RWCU breaks.                   I Adding high flow instrumentation to the RWCU suction line to detect and isolate break flow, p
        .           These modifications will be implemented prior to LaSalle Unit 1 restart. (NTS #373-180-97-SCAQ00033S101) These modifications will also be completed for Unit 2 prior to restart.                                     ,

        .           The architect engineering (AE) firm now uses Comed NEP-12-02,
                    " Preparation, Review and Approval of Calculations" rather than the AE procedures when performing calculations on Comed projects.
