U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 This letter forwards the supplemented Licensee Event Report (LER) 97-005-01, documenting an event that occurred at Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. I on January 15,1997. This LER is submitted pursuant to 10CFR50.73(a)(2)(ii).
This supplemental report documents the closure of Commitment No. B16236-2 "NNECO commits to review the radwaste operations in the Radwaste Storage Building by March 31,1997, to determine if there has been any potential for significant release of radioactivity through HVE-14," and Commitment No. B16236-3 "NNECO commits to complete the investigation of the cause of the event and supplement this LER with the cause and any additional corrective actions by April 30, 1997." The cause of the event has been determined and the corrective actions identified.
i The following are Northeast Nuclear Energy Company's (NNECO's) commitments made within this letter. All other statements made within this letter are for information only.
B16335-1        NNECO commits that prior to returning HVE-14 to service, the HEPA filter will be tested and a program for periodic testing will be established.
B16335-2        NNECO commits to verify the Design Change Manual (DCM) has adequate design change controls for HVAC systems, or revise the DCM prior to reactor restart.
