==Dear Mr. Johnson:==

On March 24, 1986, we verbally notified your Mr. T. F. Westerman of a deficiency involving a breakdown in the QA Program of a supplier (WFI Nuclear Products, Inc.) of fittings and flanges. This evaluation is the result of a Part 21 notice provided to the NRC by WFI.
The issue was an administrative deficiency in the handling of nonconformance reports (NCR) at WFI. The decisions and dispositions issued relative to the                                 !
NCR's did not affect the integrity of items furnished to WFI customers. Even                                !
though the actions taken to resolve the subject NCR's were not in accordance with the WFI QA Program requirements, all items or materials shipped were verified to meet code and contractual requirements. Therefore, we have concluded that this issue is not reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Records supporting this determination are available for your inspectors to review at the CPSES site.
