==Dear Mr. Callan:==

In our letter of September 22, 1987 (0CAN098706), Mr. Jim Gagliardo was informed that security badges will be removed from active status on January 1, 1988, for those inspectors whose training has expired.
Site access training is required annually and radiologically controlled area access (security) training is required biennially (not biannually as stated in our previous letter). For those whose l                training is current but whose badge expires December 31, 1987, a new badge will be required before unescorted access will be granted.
Attachment 1 provides a list of badges that will be inactive or expired, as of January 1, 1988. Attachment 2 provides a status of each active inspector's training and indicates the date when each becomes inactive. Once a badge has been given an inactive status, it will not be reissued until training requirements have been met.
Once a badge has expired, a new badge will be issued when training req'Jirements have been met.
