: 2) ULNRC-03628 Dated August 8,   1997 Union Electric Company herewith transmits an application for amendment to Facility Operating License Number NPF-30 for Callaway Plant.          This proposed amendment revises Table 3.3-3, Punctional Units 4.b.2 and 5.a.2 by: 1) changing the Main Steam and Feedwater Isolation System (MSFIS) channels to be consistent with the requirements for the Solid State Protection System, 2) adding a clarifying note, and 3) deleting and replacing Action Statements 27a and 34a with Action Statements 27 and 34. In addition, Table 4.3-2,: Functional Units 4.b and 5.a are revised by changing the slave relay quarterly surveillance to a

quarterly actuation logic test for the MSFIS actuation and relays.
The Callaway Plant On-Site Review Committee and the Nuclear Safety Review Board have reviewed and
                       -approved the amendment request. Attachments l'through 3 provide the Technical Specification changes, Significant Har,ards Evaluation, and Environmental k 'ih' Consideration, respectively. Wo.have concluded that there is no significant hazard consideration as determined.per 10CFR50.92.          Pursuant to 10CFR51.22(b),

assessment need be prepared in connection with the issuance of this amendment.
These changes have been incorporated into the    i Improved Technical Specifications (ITS) as submitted in the referenced letter. Therefore, ITS markup pages have not been included with this transmittal. In addition, Reference 2 also revises MSFIS ACTIONS such that issuance of one amendment request with regards to Action 34a will affect the other.
