COTTOM-MOUNTED INS ~RUMENTATION (EMI) THIMBLE TUBES AND PRESSURIZER SURGE LINE THERMAL STRATIFICATION The subject meetings were held January 30 through February 1,1989 at the the Westinghouse facility in Monroeville, PA. A formal meeting was held on January 30, 1989, at which ::ctinghouse provided an overview of status of their work on BMI thimble tune wear. A list of attendees is given in Enclosure
: 1.      On the subsequent. days, there were informal meetings and a visit to Westinghouse's Waltz Mill test facility. Details of the meetings are included as Enclosure 2 to this meeting summary.
On January 31 and February 1 the staff met with the licensee and Westinghouse                                         I to discuss the status of their evaluation of the pressurizer surge line thermal stratification issue, in particular the issues raised in Supplement No. 6 to the Safety Evaluation Report on South Texas (NUREG-0781).                         Enclosure 3 is a list of the attendees at the meeting.                  Enclosure 4 documents the staff's evaluation and findings. The information contained in Enclosure 4 was also included in SSER No. 7 to NUREG-0781.
