Effect of Event:
Attapted introduction of an unauthorized weapon into the protected area.
Designation of Apparent Cause:
Mad been target shooting on the previous day and had lef t the 22 caliber i
derringer in his jacket pocket. When he left for work on 11/13/86 he put the same jacket on and did not realize that the weapon was still in the pocket.
Corrective Action:
All access control personnel and equipment functioned in accordance with procedure, as the weapen was detected prior to the individual entering the protected area.                                                                                                 i das terminated, unf avorably, on 11/13/86 for violation of Paragraph 8.0 of owners rules for construction which states in part. . ." Bringing ammunf tf on, firearms and weapons of any kind onto plant property is forbidden and will result ia termination...".
Based on this unfavorable termination                  111 be denied access to this facility and to Haddam Neck for a period of at least one year. After one year he may reapply and his request for access will be reviewed.
