REQUEST FOR RELIEF FROM ASME OM CODE PUMP TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDUAL HEAT REMOVAL PUMPS By letter ULNRC-05184, dated August 9, 2005, Union Electric Company (AmerenUE) requested NRC approval of four relief requests submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3) for Callaway's Inservice Test Program, as applicable to the third 10-year inservice testing interval for Callaway.Of the four relief requests submitted, the one identified as PR-04 concerned conformance to testing requirements/provisions of ISTB-1400(b).
Specifically, the requested relief was to allow Callaway's Residual Heat Removal pumps to be tested as standby (Group B) pumps for when the plant is in Mode 1, 2, 3, or 4, and as routinely operated (Group A) pumps for when the plant is in Mode 5 or 6. Although supporting information and justification was provided in the request, upon further consideration of the matter, AmerenUE has determined that the relief request should be withdrawn.
Therefore, by this letter, AmerenUE respectfully requests withdrawal of the relief request identified as PR-04.
