Ladies and Gentlemen:

In accordance with 10 CFR 52.99(c)(1 ), the purpose of this letter is to notify the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of the completion of Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Unit 4 Inspections, Tests, Analyses , and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) Item 3.2 .00.02 [Index Number 745] . This ITAAC confirms the main control room contains operator and supervisor workstations and safety-related displays and controls. The closure process for this ITAAC is based on the guidance described in Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 08-01, "Industry Guideline for the ITAAC Closure Process under 10 CFR Part 52 ," which was endorsed by the NRC in Regulatory Guide 1.215.

This letter contains no new NRG regulatory commitments. Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) requests NRC staff confirmation of this determination and publication of the required notice in the Federal Register per 10 CFR 52.99.

2. The MCR includes reactor operator workstations, supervisor workstation(s), safety-related displays, and safety-related controls.

Inspections/Tests/Analyses An inspection of the MCR workstations and control panels will be performed.

Acceptance Criteria The MCR includes reactor operator workstations, supervisor workstation(s), safety-related displays, and safety-related controls.

ITAAC Determination Basis An inspection of the Main Control Room (MCR) workstations and control panels was performed to verify that the MCR includes reactor operator workstations, supervisor workstation(s), safety-related displays, and safety-related controls.

The visual inspection utilized approved construction drawings and control room panel design specifications to perform inspections of the Unit 3 MCR. The inspections compared the as-built workstations, displays, and controls with design documents (References 1 through 12) to confirm that the MCR includes reactor operator workstations, supervisor workstation(s), safety-related displays, and safety-related controls.

The inspection results are documented in SV4-OCS-ITR-800745 (Reference 13), which serves as the Principal Closure Document and confirms that the MCR includes reactor operator workstations, supervisor workstation(s), safety-related displays, and safety-related controls.

Principal Closure Document SV4-OCS-ITR-800745 is available for NRC inspection as part of the Unit 4 ITAAC 3.2.00.02 Completion Package (Reference 14).

ITAAC Finding Review In accordance with plant procedures for ITAAC completion, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) performed a review of findings pertaining to the subject ITAAC and associated corrective actions. This review found there are no relevant ITAAC findings associated with this ITAAC. The ITAAC completion review is documented in the ITAAC Completion Package for ITAAC 3.2.00.02 (Reference 14) and available for NRG review.

IT AAC Completion Statement Based on the above information, SNC hereby notifies the NRG that ITAAC 3.2.00.02 was performed for VEGP Unit 4 and that the prescribed acceptance criteria are met.
