U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ND-20-1265 Enclosure Page 2 of 3 ITAAC Statement Design Commitment S.a) Each fuel oil storage tank provides for at least 7 days of continuous operation of the associated standby diesel generator.

Inspections. Tests. Analvsis Inspection of each fuel oil storage tank will be performed.

Acceptance Criteria The volume of each fuel oil storage tank available to the standby diesel generator is greater than or equal to 55,000 gallons.

ITAAC Determination Basis An inspection was performed to demonstrate that the volume of each fuel oil storage tank available to the standby diesel generator is greater than or equal to 55,000 gallons.

A calculation was performed to verify that the tank size will provide for at least 55,000 gallons of available volume. The available volume includes the volume above the pump trip set point and below the tank "high-tank" level. Fuel oil storage tanks DOS-MT-01A and DOS-MT-01B were inspected (Reference 1) to verify the as-built dimensions of the tanks. In order to obtain the net working volume of the tanks, the design volumes of the nozzle N5 and N7 drop pipes, pipe clips and the design maximum thickness of the tank internal coating were subtracted from the calculated volume of the tank and documented in Reference 1.

The inspection determined the fuel oil storage tank's available volume to supply fuel to each standby diesel generator is 70,686 gallons for tank D0S-MT-G1A and 70,627 gallons for tank DOS-MT-01B and meets the ITAAC acceptance criteria. This report is available for NRC inspection as part of the ITAAC 2.3.03.03a Completion Package (Reference 2).

ITAAC Finding Review In accordance with plant procedures for ITAAC completion. Southern Nuclear Operating Company(SNC) performed a review of all ITAAC findings pertaining to the subject ITAAC and associated corrective actions. This review found that there are no relevant ITAAC findings associated with this ITAAC. The ITAAC completion review is documented in the ITAAC Completion Package for ITAAC 2.3.03.03a (Reference 2)and is available for NRC review.

ITAAC Completion Statement Based on the above information, SNC hereby notifies the NRC that ITAAC 2.3.03.03a [Index Number 320] was performed for VEGP Unit 4 and that the prescribed acceptance criteria were met.
