Southern Nuclear Company (SNC) hereby provides notification of its intent to apply the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Units 3&4 "Nuclear Development Quality Assurance Manual" (NDQAM) to radioactive material transportation packaging. Pursuant to 10 CFR 71 Subpart H, SNC requests the issuance of NRC Form 311 for Radioactive Material Packages. Specifically, SNC requests one NRC Form 311 and a 10 CFR 71 docket number applicable to both units.
The Vogtle Units 3 & 4 "Nuclear Development Quality Assurance Manual" was initially submitted in Part 11 of the Combined License Application. In NUREG-2124 (ADAMS Accession Number ML12271A048), Final Safety Evaluation Report Related to the Combined Licenses for Vogtle Electric Generating Riant, Units 3 and 4, the staff concluded that the NDQAM met the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B. The NDQAM (ADAMS Accession Number ML20105A217) was most recently submitted by letter "ND-20-0256" (ADAMS Accession Number ML20105A212) dated April 13, 2020.
This letter contains no regulatory commitments. This letter has been reviewed and confirmed to contain no security-related information.
