Fort Calhoun Station Fire Protection Self Assessment Enclosed is the Fort Calhoun Station (FCS) Fire Protection Self Assessment completed in July 1997.
As discussed during the predecisional enforcement ccnference on July 14, 1997 in Arlington, Texas, this self assessment is being provided to inform the Nuclear Regulatory Commission about the broad scope of FCS fire protection activities that are elated to the review of the corrective actions associated with the FCS Fire Drotection Program.
Omaha Public Power District (OPPD), with support from a consultant (Engineering Planning and Management Inc.), performed a thorough, demanding and objective self assessment of the Fire Protection Program at FCS. The purpose of the assessment was to determine if the Appendix R and the Fire Protection Program were consistent with the current standards for these programs.
As a result of findings in the self assessment, OPPD initiated Condition Report CR199700724.
The self assessment provides reasonable assurance that the Fire Protection Program adequately protects the health and safety of the public.
The Self Assessment Team recommended re-evaluation of specific issues based on today's increasing industry expectations and insights. The specific items are detailed in the self assessment report along with the significance, recommended resolution and current expected completion date.
As discussed in the predecisional enforcement conference, several of the issues and analysis to upgrade the program are on-going. These items will be tracked as corrective actions associated with
