Please refer to our letter dated August 15, 1984 (0CAN088404) which addressed the results of our area reanalysis of ANO-1 and ANO-2 in accordance with Appendix R to 10CFR50 and clarification provided by Generic Letter 83-33.

The referenced document identified modifications which were completed during the ANO-1 fifth refueling outage (IRS) and the ANO-2 third refueling outage (2R3) in accordance with the schedules imposed by 10CFR50.48.

It also addressed additional modifications which were to be made during the most j

recent refueling outages (1R6 and 2R4), and requested specific exemptions on a fire area basis.

During those recent refueling outages, which were subsequent to our August 15, 1984 submittal, changes were made with respect to some of those proposed modifications.

The purpose of this document is to provide a current status of Appendix R compliance based upon the actual modifications completed during 1R6 and 2R4.

Also identified is information within that August, 1984 submittal which requires revision or clarification.

As applicable, references to the page and paragraph number of that submittal are provided.
