This is an update to a previous report submitted on January 24, 1983. The event reported is described in the following paragraph.

On January 10, 1983, a field engineer notified the Control Room that a floor penetration in the Auxiliary Building (AP-72B) was open and had been open since December 13, 1982. The person reported that he was unaware of the actions required by the Technical Specifications at the time. He was alerted to the incident as a result of the corrective actions of LER 82-132/01 T-0. An hourly fire watch was established on January 10, 1983.

The penetration is expected to be resealed by June 30, 1983. The fire watch will be maintained in the interim. This report is submitted pursuant to T.S.6.9.1.12.b.
