Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Update Report - Fire Barrier Found Open With no Fire Watch Established LER 83-004/01 T-1 AECM-83/0269 This is an update to a previous report submitted on January 24, 1983.

The event for which the report was submitted occurred on January 10, 1983, when the Control Room was notified that penetration AP-72B was open and had been open since December 13, 1983, with no fire watch established as required by Technical Specification 3.7.7. The penetration was opened to perform planned maintenance work. The event was reported pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.12.b.

In our previous report we estimated the penetration would be rescaled by March 25, 1983. The purpose of this update is to revise the estimated date of restoration to June 30, 1983. Attached is LER 83-004/01 T-1, which is a final report.
