Changes to Table 3.3.7.9-1 Proposed Amendment to the

Operating License (PCOL-89/08)
System Energy Resources, Inc. (SERI) is submitting by this letter a proposed amendment to the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) Operating License.
The proposed amendment would add two smoke detectors and room numbers to Table 3.3.7.9-1 as well as rename a room described in Table 3.3.7.9-1 as a result of design changes. These design changes are for construction of a new snubber test facility in the Auxiliary Building and renovation of an existing room in the Control Building.
During the first quarter of 1990, SERI plans to begin work on portions of the change packages.
Those portions of the change packages which require changes to the Technical Specifications will not be implemented prior to NRC 3
approval of this amendment request.

In accordance with the provisions of 10CFR50.4, the signed original of the requested amendment is enclosed _and the appropriate copies will be distributed. - The attachment provides the technical justification and discussion to support the requested amendment.
This amendment has been reviewed and accepted by the Plant Safety Review Committee and the Safety Review Committee.
l Based on the guidelines presented in 10CFR50.92, SERI has concluded that this proposed amendment involves no significant hazards considerations.
