SUBJECT:

Response to IE Bulletin No.79-01B

" Environmental Qualification of Class lE Electrical Equipment" Cooper Nuclear Station NRC Docket No. 50-298, DpR-46

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

Enclosed is the District's response to the subject IE Bulletin which is submitted prior to November 1, 1980 to fulfill the numerous requirements of Reference 6 of the enclosure to this letter. It has been determined that Cooper Nuclear Station could be placed into a cold shutdown condition and long term cooling established for any postulated Loss-of-Coolant Accident or high energy line break.

The enclosed Master List may contain unnecessary equipment which has been added to ensure that all necessary equipment has been considered. Due to time constraints, this report was prepared without the benefit of complete final review by all operating personnel at CNS; therefore, some equip-ment may be deleted frem the Master List in one of the subsequent addenda. Complete justification of any changes to the Master List will be provided.
