2/25/79 Time of Occurrence Date of Occurrence Identification and Description of Occurrence:

Noble gas readings were observed to be incorrect while operations were logging data from the reactor and turbine building and refueling zone ventilation exhaust monitor RM-90-250.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Udit 2 was operating near 100%.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to inoperable equipment. Describe.

The chemical laboratory obtained and analyzed samples hourly until the monitor was returned to service.

Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Moisture collected in the detector of the monitorirg system.

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no hazard ho the public health or safety.

Corrective Action _:

Replaced the detector and dried the system.
