2/28/79 Time of Occurrence Unit Date of Occurrence Identification and Description of Occurrence:

Particulate detector readings were observed to be incorrect while operations were logging data f rom the reactor, turbine building, and refueling zone ventilation exhaust monitor RM-90-250.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

UEit 2 was operating at 70%.

Action specified in the Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to inoperable equipment. Describe.

The chemical laboratory obtained and analyzed required sample.

Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Moisture collected in the detector of the monitoring system.

Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no hazard to the puolit tiealtn or sar'ety.

Corrective Action

Dried the system and replaced the detector. A leak in the condensate discharge of the steam packing exhauster was' reduced to an acceptable level. Final repairs will be made at a future outage.
