The pump was removed from service and isolated. There are no probable consequences of this event as the plant was operated in accordance with Technical Specifi-cation Sections 3.1.2.4 and 3.5.2.

Pump Data - ARMCO Pump Co.; Model J-531-M6DF, Serial #2261, Recipro-cating, Positive Displacement.

CAUSE DESCRIPTIO1 The cause of the crack apoears to be the result of a stress or fatigue failure in the vai/e cylinder. The defective valve block is being replaced.

Long term corrective action will be replacement of the existing charging pumps with those of a different vendor.
