Dear Mr. Hanson:
This refers to transcribed interviews of four Exelon individuals conducted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Office of Investigations (OI) in March 2018. The purpose of the interviews was to understand the circumstances that led to a change to Byron Station Procedure BFR-H.1, Response to Loss of Secondary Heat Sink, which authorized the use of the Auxiliary Feedwater System unit cross-tie. Based on the interviews, we determined that an OI investigation is not warranted. However, the regulatory aspects of this matter continue to be reviewed under our routine inspection process.
