BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN) - UNITS 1q 2~ AND 3 - DOCKET NOS 50-259> 260~ and 296 - FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE DPR-33~ 52~ AND .68 LICENSEE EVENT REPORT 50-296/96001.

The enclosed report provides details concerning a reactor scram. The scram was a result of a faulty Electro-Hydraulic Control frequency/voltage converter card.

TVA plans to send the faulty card to the vendor for further investigation. Any additional corrective actions that. are developed as a result of the vendor's investigation will be implemented in accordance with TVA's corrective action process.

'This report is being submitted in accordance with 10 CFR 50.73(a)(2)(iv), as any event or condition that resulted in manual or automatic actuation of any engineered safety feature including the reactor protection system.
