The root'ause of the problem was a broken. drive belt on the. agitator (mixer for the colL lime-. softener in the Hater Treatment Plant)

Due. to inadequate spare. parts, the. agitator motor had. to be remounted to accept a drive belt that. was available oa site Corrective acti'on willinclude a review of spare parts required for critical portions. of the Water Treatment Plant.

Additional modifications. are. currently scheduled'hich willreduce, the potential exposure to events, of this, type.

Additional water storage-capacity is being: provided's, a part'f the planned upgrade: of'he demineralized water/deareation system.

This. modification is currently scheduled to be completed during the first quarter of 1981 steam. generator blowdown recovery system will be installed on each of the nuclear units.

This. modification is currently scheduled to be completed on Unit 4 during the. second'. quarter of 1981 and, on Unit 3 during, the second quarter of 1982'.
