Letter G02-94-059, dated March 11, 1994, JV Parrish (SS) to NRC, same subject Reference 1 was submitted by the Washington Public Power Supply System (Supply System) to request a Technical Specification change allowing replacement of the WNP-2 refueling mast.
Although a direct replacement for the current General Electric model NF400 mast, the new mast is a General Electric model NF500
- mast, The proposed change also included minor improvements to the present Refueling Platform Technical Specification.
Reference 2 provided additional information and a revised No Significant Hazards Evaluation based on NRC Staff comments and our additional review of Reference 1.
Upon further review of References 1 and 2 and discussion with the NRC Staff, the Supply System requests that the NRC continue the review and approval ofitem 1 of Reference
- 1. This item allows replacement of the NF400 mast with the NF500 mast, including necessary changes to Surveillance 4.9.6 a,, f., and g. as noted on Attachment 1.
The Supply System hereby withdraws items 2 through 5 and the change of setpoint values for the existing NF400 values in item 1 of Reference 1.
These withdrawn items were proposed enhancements to the Refueling Platform Technical Specification and are not related to the mast replacement.
