Re: St. Lucie Unit 1 Docket No. 50-335 Proposed License Amendment Axial Sha e Index Limits Ex ansion In accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) submits herewith a request to amend Facility Operating License DPR-67.

To achieve greater operational flexibility at lower power, expansion of the Axial Shape Index (ASI) limits for the Departure from Nucleate Boiling (DNB) and Local Power Density (LPD) Limiting Conditions for Operation (LCOs) and the LPD Limiting Safety System Setpoints (LSSS) is proposed. The proposed change modifies the LPD LSSS (Technical Specification Figure 2.2-2), the LPD LCO (Technical Specification Figure 3.2-2), and the DNB LCO (Technical Specification Figure 3.2-4).

Marked up copies of the affected Technical Specification pages are included as Attachment 1. A Safety Analysis in support of the proposed amendment is included as Attachment 2. A "Determination of No Significant Hazards Consideration" is provided as Attachment 3.

The proposed amendment has been reviewed by the St. Lucie Facility Review Group and the Florida Power and Light Company Nuclear Review Board.
