Docket No. 50-335 Proposed License Amendment Fuel Enrichment In accordance with IO CFR 50.90, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) submits herewith three signed originals and forty copies of a request to amend Appendix A to Facility Operating License DPR-67.
With this application, FPL is requesting approval to increase the maximum fuel enrichment specified in St. Lucie Unit I Technical Specification 5.6.I.
The revised limit would be changed from 3.7 weight percent to 4.0 weight percent of U-235.
This will allow increased flexibility in fuel management and will accommodate storage of higher enrichments for possible use in future cycles.
Attachment I contains marked up Technical Specification pages 5-5 and 5-6, and uses the same format as the corresponding Unit 2 specification.
contains a Safety Evaluation and No Significant Hazards Evaluation in support of the proposed amendment.
Exxon Report XN-NF-83-36, Rev.
I (referenced herein as the Safety Analysis Report), has been included as part of the Safety Evaluation.
The proposed amendment has been reviewed by the St. Lucie Plant Facility Review Group and the Florida Power & Light Company Nuclear Review Board.
