Ladies and Gentlemen:

On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status. Enclosure 1 of Reference 1 requested each addressee perform a Flood Hazard Reevaluation (FHR). To adequately provide that report in accordance with the guidance provided in Reference 2, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) requested that the NRC obtain specific information from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and for that information to be provided to SNC. On May 6, 2014, SNC provided additional information to the NRC that resulted from the April 29, 2014 meeting between SNC, the NRC and the USACE.

Ac w

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission NL-15-0472 Page 2 On March 4, 2015 a meeting was held between representatives of SNC, the NRC staff and the USACE. At that meeting, the USACE requested Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant site. The requested data is provided on the enclosed DVD.

SNC requested an inundation polygon, water surface grid and depth grid representing the Chattahoochee River controlling PMF scenario at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant site. The requested extents for that data are River Mile 35 to River Mile 55 on the Chattahoochee River.

This letter contains no NRC regulatory commitments. If you have any questions, please contact John Giddens at 205.992.7924.

Respectfully submitted, C.R. Pierce Regulatory Affairs Director CRP/JMG/TWS
