Dear Mr. Pozzo:
I am sending this letter to inform you that the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (Department) will continue to regulate water quality issues related to operation of the Callaway facility through periodic re-issuance of our Missouri State Operating Permit (MSOP) No. M0-0098001. The MSOP is issued through our joint authority under Section 402 of the Clean Water Act and the Missouri Clean Water Law. Compliance with the conditions of the MSOP ensures that the Callaway Unit 1 will not cause the general or numeric criteria to be exceeded nor impair beneficial uses established in the state's Water Quality Standards, 10 CSR 20-7.031 and complies with the state's effluent regulations, 10 CSR 20-7.015. The Department considers that this permit provides appropriate environmental protection under the Missouri Clean Water Law and compliance with the Clean Water Act.
Sincerely,
~~
