Augmented Inspection Team Information Request Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-313 and 50-368 License Nos. DPR-51 and NPF-6

Dear Sir or Madam:

During an NRC augmented inspection team visit to Arkansas Nuclear One the week of July 22, 2013, a copy of the root cause evaluation for the stator drop industrial accident that occurred on March 31, 2013, was requested. Attachment 1 provides a copy of the stator drop root cause evaluation.

Some of the information contained in Attachment 1 is considered proprietary to Entergy.

Entergy requests that the proprietary information be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390. An affidavit by Entergy supporting the request for non-disclosure is provided in Attachment 2. Therefore, Entergy requests that Attachment 1 of this submittal be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390. A nonproprietary version of information contained in Attachment 1 is included in Attachment 3.

AFFIDAVIT 1, Jeremy Browning, being duly sworn, hereby depose and say that I am the Site Vice President of Entergy Operations Inc. ("Entergy"); that I am duly authorized to sign and file with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) this affidavit on behalf of Entergy; and state:

I1. I am authorized to execute this affidavit on behalf of Entergy Operations Inc.

2. The Root Cause Evaluation, dated July 22, 2013 associated with the ANO-1 Stator Drop Event of March 31, 2013 was prepared as Attorney Work Product related to resolution of commercial claims and disputes arising out of that event and contains commercial information that should be held in confidence by the NRC pursuant to 10 CFR

§§ 2.390(a)(4) and 9.17(a)(4), because:

a. This information is and has been held in confidence by Entergy. It is being produced to third parties on a limited basis and then only subject to non-disclosure protections. It is being provided to other government agencies only pursuant to similar non-disclosure requests.
b. This information is of a type that is held in confidence by Entergy, and there is a rational basis for doing so because the information relates to ongoing commercial claims and disputes.
c. This information was transmitted to and received by the NRC in confidence.
d. This information is not available in public sources and could not be gathered readily from other publicly available information.
e. Public disclosure of this information would create substantial harm to Entergy's ability to engage in confidential resolution of these claims and disputes.
3. Accordingly, Entergy requests that the document withheld from public disclosure pursuant to the requirements found at 10 CFR §§ 2.390(a) (4) and 9.17(a) (4).
