By letter dated January 2, 2013 (Reference), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) informed NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra) of plans for a future inspection of Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PBNP), in accordance with Inspection Procedure (IP) 95001, "Supplemental Inspection for One or Two White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area. The associated finding involved the failure to have work instructions and procedures appropriate to the circumstances to ensure that, following the final alignment of the turbine to the Unit 1 turbine-driven auxiliary feedwater pump during a refueling outage in November 2011, no additional work was performed on the turbine that would affect the overall final alignment. This ultimately resulted in failure of the turbine-to-pump coupling.

This letter is to notify the NRC that PBNP is ready for the IP 95001 supplemental inspection.

Accordingly, NextEra requests the NRC to commence the 95001 inspection on August 5, 2013.

This letter contains no new Regulatory Commitments and no revisions to existing Regulatory Commitments.
