VAmeren AmerenUE Callaway Plant December 10,2009 u.s. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555-0001 ULNRC-05671 10 CFR 50.90 PO Box 620 Fulton, MO 65251 U E Ladies and Gentlemen:

DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLA WAY PLANT UNIT 1 UNION ELECTRIC CO.

CORRECTION OF INFORMATION PROVIDED IN APPLICATION FOR AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-30 (LDCN 09-0008) TAC NO. ME0986

Reference:

1. AmerenUE Letter ULNRC-05598, "Facility Operating License NPF Proposed Revision to Technical Specification 5.5.16, 'Containment Leakage Rate Testing Program' (License Amendment Request LDCN 09-0008)," dated March 20, 2009 By letter dated March 20, 2009 (Reference 1), Union Electric Company (AmerenUE) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) in which a change to Technical Specification 5.5.16, "Containment Leakage Rate Testing Program," was proposed in order to reflect a one-time five-year deferral of the containment Type A integrated leak rate test (from once in ten years to once in 15 years) for the Callaway Plant. This amendment request is currently undergoing review by the NRC staff Per Attachment 1 of the Reference 1 letter, AmerenUE provided a detailed description and technical evaluation of the proposed changes. Within Attachment 1 is a table (i.e., Table 4.4.2a on page 8 of28 of the attachment) that provides a summary of the running total, as-left, maximum pathway leakage (for Type Band C components) determined from each of the last four refueling outages at Callaway.

The leak rate values are given in terms of% weight per day. With regard to the values given for Refuel 15 and Refuel 16, it was recently determined that incorrect values were inadvertently provided. AmerenUE is therefore providing corrected a subsidiary of Ameren Corporation

~~~~--~----------~~~~--
ULNRC-05671 December 9, 2009 Page 2 values, notwithstanding the relatively minor changes required. Specifically, the total leak rate value determined from Refuel 15 should be "0.036" instead of"0.025," and the total leak rate value determined from Refuel 16 should be "0.052" instead of "0.068." Note that the corrected leak rate values remain well below the acceptance criterion of 0.12 (% weight per day).
Please contact me at (573) 676-8528, or Mr. Scott Maglio at (573) 676-8719, for any questions you may have regarding these corrections.
This letter does not contain new commitments.
I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.
