USNRC NRC-08-0016 February 7, 2008 Page 2 In Reference 2, Detroit Edison submitted a proposed revision to the Radiological Emergency Response Preparedness Plan (RERP Plan) for Fermi 2. In Reference 3, the NRC requested additional information regarding the proposed RERP Plan revision. Reference 4 provided a response to the NRC request.

The following statements were provided in the cover letter for Reference 4:

"Basedon information developed while responding to the requested information, Detroit Edison is withdrawingour requestfor approval of Proposal3. That proposalrevised the 60-minute responders to delete one Support Engineer. Approval is requestedfor the remaining changes.-to eliminate the Station NuclearEngineerposition, the second Chemistry Technician, the EOF Coordinator, the QA Advisor, from the Emergency Response Organization(ERO). "

The intent of the statements in the cover letter for Reference 4 was to withdraw the request for approval of Proposal 4; therefore, the statements are hereby corrected as provided below:

"Based on information developed while responding to the requested information, Detroit Edison is withdrawing the request for approval of Proposal 4. That proposal requested the elimination of the Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) Coordinator position. Approval is still requested for all other changes."

The information provided in the Enclosure to Reference 4 correctly indicates that Proposal 4 is being withdrawn. As stated in that Enclosure, it was determined that the elimination of the EOF Coordinator position does not require prior NRC approval.

Should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact Mr. Ronald W. Gaston at (734) 586-5197.

Sincerely,
