Dear Sir or Madam:
On January 20, 2006, the NRC issued Generic Letter (GL) 2006-01 entitled Stearn Generator Tube Integrity and Associated Technical Specifications for operating licenses of pressurized water reactors unless otherwise excluded. Under Option 1, the NRC staff requested that within 30 days of the date of the GL, either confirm that the licensee has submitted a request to modify the steam generator (SG) portion of your technical specifications (TS) that is consistent with TSTF-449, Revision 4, or provide a regulatory commitment detailing your plans and schedule for submitting such a request.
In References 1 and 2, Entergy has submitted license amendments for Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 and Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2, respectively. Both of these amendment requests are consistent with TSTF-449, Revision 4. Therefore, Entergy already complies with the intent of GL 2006-01 and no further action or commitment is considered necessary. As noted in the generic letter, a response for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 is not required since that unit has already implemented TSs consistent with TSTF-449.
