REFERENCE:

(a) NRC Bulletin 2005-01: Material Control and Accounting at Reactors and Wet Spent Fuel Storage Facilities By letter dated February 11, 2005, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) transmitted Bulletin 2005-01 (Reference a). The NRC required a response to be submitted within 30 days of the date of the bulletin. In an e-mail from Mr. R. V. Guzman dated February 24, 2005, NRC informed Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (CCNPP) personnel that the required 30-day response was extended by one week.

Attachment (1) provides the CCNPP 30-day response to Bulletin 2005-01 for Calvert Cliffs Unit Nos. I and 2. The NRC has determined that Bulletin 2005-01 relates to material control and accounting programs and is, therefore, exempt from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390.

Accordingly, as discussed in the bulletin, the enclosed response is also exempt from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 and is marked as such.

This letter contains one new commitment, as discussed in the attachment, to perform the actions requested in Bulletin 2005-01 by October 21, 2005, and report the results to the NRC promptly.
