Dear Sir:
This letter summurizes the status of NYPA action items agreed to in a telephone conversation between the Authority and Mr. L. Prividy of the NRC on Ja.Tuary 23,1992.
Item 1)
Review additional (about five more) 1992 refueling outege modifications to ensure issues identified during Engineering inspection 92-02, as well as other programmatic areas are addressed.
NYPA to complete by 2/7/92 Status:
NYPA completed a review of eleven modifications with respect to the following programmatic issues:
Constructibility ISI/iST Program Concerns Setpoint/ Calibration issues Equipment Qualification (EO)
Appendix R/ Fire Protection ALARA Selsmic/ Stress Analyses The results of this review indicate that these programmatic issues are adequately addressed by current modification control procedures. As part of l
the FitzPatrick Results improvement Program, design l
control procedures will be reviewed and revised as appropriate.

Review a sample of OA Cat.1 (nuclear safety related) modifications completed during the 1990 refueling outage to ensure that the ISI end IST program issues are properly addressed.
NYPA to complete by 2/22/92.
Status:
NYPA completed the review of all OA Cat I major modifications installed during the 1990 refueling outage. The results of 'his review indicate that the ISI and IST programs have beeri updated as required through the modification closecut process in accordance with NYPA Procedure MCM-19.
Item 3)
Revise DCM-13 to strengthen the ISI and IST program reviews.
Status:
As committed previously, NYPA plans to revise DCM-13 and strengthen the ISI and IST program reviews during the design review process by 6/25/92.
Item 4)
Include training of the WPO design and project engineering staff in the areas of ISI and IST program.
Status:
As indicated previously, requirements for design engineers have been incorporated int'; the training program developed as part of the Nuclear Generation Business Plan. The ISI and IST train;ng for WPO L
design and project engineers will be completed by l'

Item 5)
Revise modification F1-88 204, Rev 0, enthled " Replacement of RHRSW and ESW Strainers", to adaiess weaknesses ar.d deficiencies identified by L. Prividy.
NYPA to complete by 2/15/92 Status:
NYPA Nuclear Engineering Department revised the modification package for F1-88-204 to address the weaknesses and deficiencies identified by L. Prividy during the subject inspection. The FitzPatrick plant i
