The company conducted these activities at temporary job sites in NRC jurisdiction under a reciprocity request filed in March 2018 for the remainder of the calendar year. During this inspection, the company was serving as a subcontractor on a wastewater storage and treatment construction project in Madison, Indiana. As a component of the geotechnical services provided, the company intended to perform field density testing using a portable moisture density gaug PERFORMANCE OBSERVATIONS The inspector visited the temporary job site listed on the licensee's NRC Form 241 dated March 27, 2018; however, the licensee was not present on the job site. The inspector then visited the licensee's office in Shelbyville, about an hour from the job site, and met with the RSO and an authorized user to discuss the conduct of licensed activities in NRC jurisdiction. The staff demonstrated the implementation of measures for the safe use and transportation of licensed material to job sites such as the one in Indiana, and discussed with the inspector emergency scenarios and response measures. Through these demonstrations and discussions, the inspector found the staff to be knowledgeable of radiation protection principles and regulatory requirements. While on-site, the inspector also reviewed a selection of utilization logs, shipping papers, and field reports. During the period of in-office review, the inspector obtained and evaluated additional information related to the conduct of these licensed activitie No violations ofNRC requirements were identified as a result of this inspection.
