This is our eighth monthly report on the progress of the Regulatory Response and Commitment Control Program.

Following is a discussion of progress on each major area of the program on which we are required to report status.

1.

Verification of implementation of commitments made since January 1, 1979.

As stated in our previous submittal, we consider this item closed.

2.

Procedure revision and commitment tracking.

Comments received on our detailed commitment tracking document are still being reviewed, and study of the system developed by Energy Inc.

is still being conducted.

Our evaluation is now expected to be complete by the next monthly reporting date.

Priority scheme for nuclear regulatory issues.

Guidelines for a priority scheme for. major nuclear-relat'ed activities have been developed and issued to Licensing personnel for th,eir study.

We are investigating application of the priority scheme through the commitment tracking system.

In this manner, its effectiveness and usefulness to the overall licensing efforts can be adequately determined.

Our next report will be submitted approximately October 14, 1983.

Very truly yours,

.I
