Docket No. 50-254

Docket No. 50-265

Commonwealth Edison Company

ATTN: Mr. Cordell Reed

Vice President .

Post Office Box 767

Chicago, IL 60690

Gentlemen:

Thank you for your letter dated October 2,1985, providing us with information

regarding your BWR Water Chemistry Control Program in response to certain open

items identified in our Inspection Reports No. 50-254/85006; 50-265/85006;

dated March 19, 1985. This closes out Open Item No. 50-254/85006-003;

50-265/85006-03.

Attached is an addendum consisting of a Confirmatory Measurement data sheet

for Inspection Reports No. 50-254/85023; 50-265/85026 transmitted by our letter

dated August 14, 1985. The results include beta analysis of a liquid sample

split during our inspection on July 15-19, 1985 and counted by our Reference

Laboratory. Results show disagreements for Fe-55 and gross beta. We have

arranged to send you a spiked liquid sample from our Reference Laboratory in

an effort to resolve the disagreements. Once satisfactory results are obtained

we will close out Open Items No. 50-254/85023-01; 50-265/85026-01.

Please attach this addendum to your copy of our inspection report.

We will gladly discuss any question you have concerning this addendum.

Sincerely,
