Title | Standby Liquid Control System Inoperable |
Event Description | At 0953 EDT on 8/21/20, it was discovered that both trains of the standby liquid control system were simultaneously inoperable; therefore, this condition is being reported as an eight-hour, non-emergency notification per 10 CFR 50.72(b)(3)(v). All control rods remained operable during this time period.
There was no impact on the health and safety of the public or plant personnel. The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified. Both trains of the standby liquid control system were declared inoperable due to an inadvertent addition of water to the storage tank which caused the boron concentration in the tank to go low out of specification. |
