| Title | High Pressure Coolant Injection (Hpci) System Inoperable |
| Event Description | At 2234 [EDT], on 08/22/2019, while Unit [2] was at approximately 100 percent power in MODE 1, it was discovered that Unit 2 HPCI was INOPERABLE. HPCI does not have a redundant system; therefore, this condition is being reported as an eight-hour, non-emergency notification per 10 CFR 50.72(b)(3)(v).
There was no impact on the health and safety of the public or plant personnel. The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified. Initial evaluation is that it is a power supply issue. The system had no indications, followed by smoke from behind the circuitry, and then indications returning. This is associated with a 14-day Limiting Condition for Operation. |
