Title	Offsite Notification Due to Sewage Spill on Site
Event Description	At 1445 EDT, on 7/16/2019, during routine maintenance activities on the sanitary sewage system, a leak from an overflow line to a parking lot was discovered. The total amount leaked is estimated to be 20 gallons. Approximately 2 gallons reached gravel in an excavated section of the parking lot. A local sanitary contractor is currently responding to the site to clean the affected areas. The cause of the leak is under investigation. As a result of some of the sewage reaching gravel, environmental reports are being made to the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), the Monroe County Health Department, and the local news media. Since these reports are in the process of being made, this is considered a News Release or Notification to Other Government Agencies, therefore this event is reportable under 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi). The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified."
