Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at South Texas Project The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Chad Stott as the new resident inspector at the South Texas Project nuclear power plant in Bay City, Texas.

Stott joined the NRC in 2014 as a reactor inspector in NRCs Region IV office in Arlington, Texas. He worked for the Division of Reactor Safety as an engineering inspector. He has also served as acting resident inspector at other nuclear power plants, including Grand Gulf in Port Gibson, Miss., and Callaway in Fulton, Mo.

Prior to joining the NRC, Stott worked at Norfolk and Puget Sound Naval Shipyards as a nuclear engineer and for the Aviation Engineering Directorate for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center on the Redstone Arsenal, Ala. He holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.

Stott joins senior resident inspector Fred Sanchez, serving as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public.
