No: IV-17-014 June 12, 2017 CONTACT: Victor Dricks, 817-200-1128 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Tom Sullivan as its resident inspector at Arkansas Nuclear One located in Russellville, Ark.

Tom Sullivan has the experience and dedication to safety necessary to ensure the continued safe operation of Arkansas Nuclear One, said NRC Region IV Administrator Kriss Kennedy.

Sullivan joined the agencys Region IV office in Arlington, Texas in 2014. He has served as acting resident inspector at several nuclear power plants, including Waterford 3 and River Bend Station, both in Louisiana. He has over 30 years of experience as a nuclear operator, engineer and training instructor. He holds a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant has at least two resident inspectors. Sullivan joins senior resident inspector Brian Tindell and resident inspector Margaret Tobin at Arkansas Nuclear One.

They conduct inspections, monitor plant operations and significant work projects, and interact with plant employees and the public.
