Diane Screnci, 610-337-5330 Neil Sheehan, 610-337-5331 NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Susquehanna Nuclear Power Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Matt Rossi as the agencys resident inspector at Talen Energys Susquehanna Steam Electric Station.

Rossi joins Senior Resident Inspector Laura Micewski at the two-unit site in Berwick, Pa.

Most recently, Rossi was a project engineer in the Region I office in King of Prussia, and has served as an acting resident inspector at the Indian Point and Three Mile Island nuclear power plants. He began his federal career in 2013 at NRC headquarters in Rockville, Md.

Rossi is a graduate of the NRCs Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program and has completed a rigorous inspector qualification program. Before joining the Region I staff in 2017, he worked as a physical scientist in the Corrosion and Metallurgy Branch in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Researchs Division of Engineering. He holds a bachelors degree and a doctorate in chemistry from Drexel University.

At least two NRC resident inspectors are assigned to each U.S. commercial nuclear plant. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
