Title:

PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PART 53 RISK-INFORMED, TECHNOLOGY-INCLUSIVE REGULATORY FRAMEWORK FOR ADVANCED REACTORS RULEMAKING Date(s) and Time(s): March 29, 2022, 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM ET Location: Webinar Category: This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.

Purpose:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is hosting a webinar to provide an opportunity for external stakeholders to exchange information with the NRC staff on the NRCs development of the Part 53 proposed rule for commercial nuclear plants. The NRC staff will discuss an assortment of key topics that have arisen while preparing the rulemaking package, including those from public comments received on the Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language.

The NRC staff has previously consolidated the Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language into one document, dated February 1, 2022. This document is available in ADAMS under accession number ML22024A066 and on the regulations.gov website under docket ID NRC-2019-0062.

This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to hear insights and answer questions from the public about the Part 53 rulemaking effort.
